Facebook is at it again. Just announced yesterday, Facebook has launched new advertising options which include sponsored pages, ads linked to members’ activities and a reporting capability for Facebook ads. The latest changes also include a system called Beacon, which allows sites to ask their visiting Facebook users if they’d like to share their purchase or action on their site with thier Facebook friends.
Marketers are also able to build their own branded pages on the Facebook, similar to the structure of regular Facebook profile pages – photos, applications, discussions boards, and flash animation are all allowed.
Coca-Cola, Blockbuster, Verizon and Conde Net have already jumped on board. Expect to see a flood of other big-brand companies to jump on the Facebook bandwagon and take part in this latest release.

Like Tilt-o-whirl, But Better
Ok, not quite the tilt-o-whirl, but this is definitely cooler. Check out the TiltViewer from a cat named Felix: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/projects/tiltviewer/app/. This 3D Flickr image browser pulls from images from Flickr’s Interestingness list and displays them through an unusual, yet engaging, user experience.
Impressive stuff… as long as it’s working. Could be server load on the Interestingness site on flickr, but when I went to check on it this evening, no images appeared. If it’s down when you visit, try again later. It’s worth the second look.

Video Game Advertising/Advergaming
Video game advertising will reach nearly $2 billion by 2011, according to an eMarketer article this month. As video games and online games continue to grow in popularity, more and more businesses are realizing the value of advertising here. Think about it- the captive audience that video games keep, or the viral element of online games. Both are great opportunites to get your message out there.
Advergames are video games created as marketing tools. Some examples:
